Bitcoin is an experimental online digital currency. Bitcoin has no central authority, yet its design ensures that payments are valid and irreversible. Bitcoin can be used by anyone, simply by running software on your computer.

What's So Interesting

Making payments (and accepting payments) on the Internet involves several layers of financial services. Bitcoin alleviates this burden of payment, allowing direct person-to-person (and customer-to-business) transactions, with little or no overhead. In short, Bitcoin could revolutionize how payments are made over the Internet.

Beyond augmenting or replacing traditional payment mechanisms, the unique qualities of Bitcoin could also inspire a new era of innovation in online commerce.

Our Motivation

We're enthralled with the potential of Bitcoin. It might be the most interesting technology we've seen since the Internet itself. Our sole developer (and founding member) has a background in cryptography and distributed protocols, which gives Potential Games a strong foundation for developing innovative Bitcoin-related services.

Where To Start

For independent games, Bitcoin could enable community support of small projects by providing players a convenient method of making micro-payments or donations.

We have several interesting Bitcoin-centric ideas related to games and otherwise, but at this point, Bitcoin is still highly experimental, the market of related services is small and rather unstable, and relatively few people actually have Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is gaining momentum, but it remains to be seen whether it will take off as a mainstream form of online payment. We're enthusiastic about the technology and excited to encourage its growth!
